Where Women Rise, Communities Transform

At Seed Grant Impact (SGI), our work in the Maasai communities of Longido and Monduli is rooted in partnership, respect, and a deep belief in the strength of local knowledge.

These regions are rich in culture and tradition, yet many women and girls face significant challenges — including limited access to education, economic opportunities, and protection from harmful practices such as gender-based violence and early marriage. At SGI, we do not come with ready-made solutions. Instead, we walk alongside communities to listen, learn, and grow together.

Our approach is built on reflection and participation. Through community outreach, focus group discussions, and workshops, we create safe spaces where women can share their experiences and identify the challenges they face. Together, we explore practical solutions that are both culturally sensitive and sustainable.

A key focus of our work is women’s empowerment. We provide training in small business development, financial literacy, and vocational skills — enabling women to build independent and resilient livelihoods. Through our multiplication approach, knowledge is shared within the community, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

In addition, we facilitate awareness sessions on important topics such as gender-based violence, female genital mutilation (FGM), and health and hygiene. By working closely with local leaders and community members, we support dialogue that encourages positive change from within.

Our volunteers and local partners play a vital role in this process, offering continuous support, monitoring progress, and reflecting together with the community to strengthen what works and adapt where needed.

At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful belief: lasting change happens when communities are empowered to lead it themselves.
